FAYETTEVILLE – Ark. —
If you drive on Highway 71B in Fayetteville, you could be seeing some changes along your route.
The Northwest Arkansas chapter of the Urban Land Institute received one of four grants that will allow them to work on improvements to the major thoroughfare.
They hope to make the corridor more visually appealing, while making it more accessible for bikers and pedestrians. Stakeholders tell us they hope it will bring more people to Fayetteville, and restore Highway 71B to the major business highway it once was.
The project started today at a workshop, where stakeholders from across the area gathered to discuss what they would like to see happen.
The chair of the project, John Coleman, told 40/29 News, large changes won’t come overnight, but you can expect to see small changes within the next six months.
