Fayetteville, AR —
The city of Fayetteville is converting several parking spots on Dickson street into usable spaces. It’s all in an attempt to make you think differently about something as simple as where you park your car.
The Fayetteville Public Library, Bike Fayetteville & NWA, and several other groups will be out on Dickson near Arkansas avenue from 9 am until 4 pm will booths showing you more ways to go green.
The city’s sustainability director, Peter Nierengarten, says these ideas & programs are right in line with Fayetteville’s goals.
“We’ll have several parking spaces on west Dickson street transformed into small parks and several spaces with electric vehicles. This event really helps us showcase what it looks like with electric automobiles”, Nierengarten said.
Mayor Lioneld Jordan will also be on hand at 1 pm. He’ll be speaking about Fayetteville’s mission to be more walkable, liveable, and fuel free.
This is the event’s third year and organizers are hoping to grow it each time with new ideas & parking space uses. Parking Day is a part of National Drive Electric week
