Hillary clarifies, but no apology for seeing Trump viewpoints as deplorable




Caterwauling Republicans, stung by the truth, have nonetheless wrung a clarifying statement from  Hillary Clinton about her reference to deplorable people among Donald Trump supporters, but it further makes the point that Trump’s positions and supporters are often deplorable.

The clarification does make the point that even some Clinton supporters have made that facts are better than labels.

Her comments Friday night:

Then she issued a further statement on Twitter this afternoon:

Trump said he respected all Clintons’ supporters. Hah. Calling Politifact for a list of all the statements that demonstrate this is untrue.  Her campaign’s response: “If you’re offended by Hillary’s #BasketOfDeplorables comment but not offended by what Trump says every day something’s seriously wrong w/ u.”

That’s about the size of it. Romney showed his disdain for poor people. Clinton showed disdain for racists and proponents of other forms of discrimination. 

There is no case on Clinton here, but the Trump P.C. police may have again won the day with the mainstream media by creating another case of false equivalency.
