JBU Opens $6M Health Education Building

John Brown University celebrated the opening of its new $6 million, 20,000-SF Health Education Building on Monday morning.

The facility includes three classrooms, four exam rooms with computer-operated, interactive mannequins that simulate urgent care scenarios, two health assessment labs, a computer lab, offices and study lounges.

The building will also house JBU’s nursing program, which launches this fall with more than 40 students enrolled and 68 students in the pre-nursing track.

JBU, located in Siloam Springs, constructed the building as part of a project called the Campaign for the Next Century

So far, donors have given and pledged $80.5 million, which leaves $44.5 million remaining for the school to reach its $125 million goal.

The new building and a nursing endowment make up $12 million of that goal, with $10.4 million given and pledged and $1.6 million still to be raised.

The Health Education Building is located on the west side of campus between the Balzer Technology Center and Bell Science Hall.
