BENTON COUNTY, Ark. —Revenue offices throughout the state are now equipped with new “Van Accessible”…

Revenue offices throughout the state are now equipped with new “Van Accessible” parking decals for eligible handicap drivers.

In order to obtain the decal, drivers must meet eligibility requirements for a mobility device, as defined by law.

Drivers must use a mobility device to get around. For instance, a three or four wheeled scooter, four wheeled walker, or a wheelchair, etc.

“Van Accessible” parking spaces have an adjacent space next to it, to give handicap drivers more room to get in and out their vehicles and access their mobility devices.

There are only a limited number of “Van Accessible” spaces at most establishments. This new decal will help law enforcement point out who’s parked legally in these spots and who isn’t.

The law hasn’t changed in Arkansas as to who can use the “Van Accessible” spots. The new decal is in addition to the already existing handicap license plates and hang tags.

You can get a decal application at a revenue office or online. All you have to do is fill out the form, get it signed by your doctor, and submit it to the revenue office.
