All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Corporal Simpson was on overtime DWI Patrol when he allegedly observed a driver commit a violation of some sort. He activated his emergency equipment in order to stop the alleged violator, but the driver refused to pull over.
The stop was supposed to have occurred in the area of the Central Avenue Hobson Avenue Intersection. However, the pursuit continued to Grand Avenue, where the suspect made a right turn onto Grand. The suspect continued at approximately 30 Mph to the HSPD HQ Building and stopped on Kirk Street.
Several GCSO and HSPD cars surrounded the suspect vehicle. The driver was arrested and a drug recognition expert (specialized DWI Investigator GCSO Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy Parker) was ordered to the scene, Dep. Parker administered some roadside testing to the driver.
The driver, Cory Disean Stevenson, 25, was charged with Public Intoxication Bond $500 and Fleeing Bond $1,000.
The suspect vehicle was towed from the scene.
