Supplement maker expands in Harrison



Lecheek Nutrition in Harrison said today it would spend $6.7 million and add 100 jobs over four years with an expansion to its existing plant in Harrison.

The plant makes nutritional supplements. Gov. Asa Hutchinson touted the company’s entrepreneurial efforts. A news release said the company’s Speed X3 was recognized as the “Pre-Workout of the Year by SupplementReviews.com in 2013.”

As is customary, Arkansas and local corporate welfare payments were provided:

* Tax Back: provides sales tax refunds on building materials, taxable machinery and equipment associated with the expansion project

* Advantage Arkansas: Provides an income tax credit based on payroll of new jobs. Credit will equal one percent of payroll.

*  Cash assistance: $315,000 Community Development Block Grant.
