Two Arrested After Gun Found at Jessieville School – Hot Springs Village, Arkansas

GARLAND COUNTY, Ark. – A 9mm handgun has been found inside a vehicle on a student parking lot.

The Garland County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) says the Monday incident was reported by a school resource officer on a campus in Jessieville.

According to a GCSO news release issued Tuesday, the officer reported receiving information that two students had come to school with a gun and then notified school administrators.

The weapon was found after a search inside a gold extended cab Chevrolet Z71 that was parked in the student parking lot on school grounds, the release said.

The GCSO says a check of the firearm serial number showed it had been reported stolen.

Wilton Hobbs, 18, and a juvenile were arrested on charges of Handgun Possession on School Property and Theft by Receiving.

On Monday 08/15/2016 the Garland County Sheriff’s Office Jessieville School Resource Officer, Brandon Tollett, received information of two students who had come to school with a gun. Deputy Tollett made the school administration aware of the situation.

Deputy Tollett located a 9mm handgun in the center console of a gold extended cab Chevrolet Z71 that was parked in the student parking lot on school grounds. A check of the firearm serial number showed it to be a stolen weapon. Eighteen year old Wilton Hobbs and a white male juvenile were arrested for 5-73-119 Handgun Possession on School Property, a Class D Felony; and 5-36-103 Theft by Receiving, a Class D Felony
