Evidence at the scene showed that the driver of the westbound tractor trailer failed to negotiate the curve, departed the right edge of the pavement, went out of control and rolled onto it’s side.
The tractor trailer continued to skid on its side for approximately 75 feet and came to final rest blocking both westbound lanes and partially blocking the eastbound lane.
Arkansas Highway Police and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Patrol responded and assisted as necessary.
Joplin Volunteer Fire and Rescue Troops responded quickly. They assisted with traffic control and fluid cleanup duties.
No injuries were reported that I am aware of.
Ernie’s Wrecker Service Assisted with removing the vehicle from the scene.
Traffic flow was interrupted for at least 3 hours.
