All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy Tatum (FTO/TRT) was on patrol on Airport Road in the area of Lake Hamilton early Friday Morning when he attempted to stop a silver Chrysler 300 near the bridge for an alleged traffic violation..
Despite having several opportunities to pull into driveways/streets, the vehicle allegedly did not pull to the right and stop as required by law. Instead, the vehicle allegedly continued driving to the Valero Gas Station (approximately half a mile up the highway) then turned left into the gas station.
Deputy Tatum went to the driver’s window and made contact with Jileen Josephine Roberts, 31, of parts unknown. It was quickly learned that Ms. Roberts is an absconding parolee with a warrant for her arrest. Parolee Roberts was promptly arrested.
GCSO Patrol Sergeant Kellar (K-9) and Aton arrived quickly and performed a K-9 sniff search on the air surrounding the suspect vehicle. Aton allegedly detected narcotic odor emanating from the vehicle and told Sgt. Kellar. A search of the vehicle was conducted. Deputies allegedly found meth, marijuana and a glass smoking pipe inside the vehicle.
Garland County Prosecutor’s Drug Task Force Agents reported to the scene and assumed the case.
Parolee Roberts was transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing. She is charged with Felony Possession Of A Controlled Substance, Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia and Failure To Appear with a bond amount totaling $7,500. The booking info does not mention anything about a parole hold being placed.
