The AC Hotel Little Rock, in the renovated Hall-Davidson buildings at the southwest corner of Louisiana Street and Capital Avenue, will open in early February, investors have announced. An opening celebration will be held in March.
The hotel, part of the Marriott chain, will have several local touches. Each of its 114 guest rooms will feature an original photograph by Chris Cranford of details of the hotel before its renovation. The AC Lounge will feature artwork by Rayna A. Macky and furniture made in Dermott by the Paul Michael Co. using crystal formations from Hot Springs. Its menu will include tapas and a European-style breakfast.
The Beaux Arts-style Hall Davidson building (41,672 square feet) was built in 1932. The adjoining annex (19,752 square feet) was built in the 1950s. Both are on the National Register of Historic Places. Renovation of the buildings as a hotel cost more than $25 million, a news release said. Investors include the Alley and Mody families, Jordan Haas, Dan Roda and Schulte Hospitality; Centennial Bank provided financing and developers made use of federal and state historic tax preservation credits, Property-Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing and the Pulaski County Brownfield Fund.

The project, in what has been envisioned to be downtown’s “Financial District,” was announced in 2017.
