Alleged Hit & Run Driver Leaves Crash To Hide Dope; Felony Arrest – HOT SPRINGS

Walmart Loss Prevention notified the Hot Springs Police Department of a theft on 06/19/19 around 5PM at the Albert Pike store.  An unknown white male, later identified as Joseph Morrison, 30, of Bayles Street in Hot Springs, was allegedly seen by an employee hiding a LubriMatic Grease Gun in his shorts and walking out of the store.  The alleged theft was also recorded on the surveillance cameras.

A warrant of arrest for Morrison was entered into the police computer.

Joseph Ray Morrison, 30, of Bayles in Hot Springs – allegedly had 2 warrants and fled from a car wreck to hide a bag of meth and mushrooms.

On 10/14/19 HSPD Officers were called out to a two car wreck at Albert Pike Road and North Mission Street around 3PM.  Witnesses allegedly stated that two people, a white male, later identified as Morrison, and a white female fled from the other vehicle into the woods on North Mission.

A witness allegedly said he saw Morrison and the female come out of a residence near his house with a small black zipper bag, and when he came out from around his house he didn’t have the bag.

Morrison and the female were found in the 200 block of Wisteria Place and handcuffed.  When officers asked Morrison for identification, he allegedly told them a fake name and birthdate.  Morrison and the female allegedly told officers they were having medical issues and were transported by LifeNet ambulance to separate hospitals.

Officers checked the area around the houses where the witness saw them and allegedly found the small black zippered bag.  Inside the black bag officers allegedly found numerous plastic baggies with 2.8 grams of meth and 12.7 grams of mushrooms,  a set of blue digital scales with meth residue, a spoon with meth residue, and 3 used syringes.

Morrison was released from the hospital, arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.  He is charged with Felony Possession Of Meth With Purpose To Deliver, Felony Possession Of Sched I/II Not Meth/Cocaine With Purpose To Deliver, Felony Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Obstruction Governmental Operations, and served with Failure To Appear and Theft Of Property Warrants, with a bond amount totaling $15,500.

The report did not mention charging the female.
