Garland County Sheriff’s Investigator Rowe reports that he received a report on December 21, 2019 that Amanda Laser, 39, of Confederate Way in Royal, was selling stolen items.
The victim said he met Ms. Laser at Harbour Storage and bought a toolbox from her for $60. Ms. Laser asked the victim if he was interested in the go karts she had for sale and showed him 5 different go karts in the storage units. Ms. Laser said she used to own a go kart racing track and that she would sell the new go karts for $3000.
Deputies ran Ms. Laser’s information through the police computer and found that she had active arrest warrants out of Hot Springs, Garland County, and Conway.
GCSO Sergeant Cannon met with the victim, saw the Facebook messages between the victim and Ms. Laser, and had him set up a meeting with Ms. Laser at the storage units later that day.
GSCO Sergeant Greathouse, Investigator Yoak, and Inv. Rowe met with the victim at Debra’s Restaurant. Sgt. Greathouse got into the vehicle with the victim and rode with him to meet Ms. Laser at the storage units.
Sgt. Greathouse and the victim arrived at the storage units and saw three of the go karts. Sgt. Greathouse arrested Ms. Laser and placed her inside of his sheriff vehicle. The go karts were photographed and put back inside of the actual owner’s storage unit.
Sgt. Greathouse searched the vehicle Ms. Laser arrived in and found .2 grams of methamphetamine, a dollar bill with cocaine residue on it, and a notebook with a bill of sale for three go karts written and signed by Ms. Laser.
Ms. Laser was transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing and she admitted to stealing the go karts and trying to sell them. Ms. Laser was charged with Felony Breaking Or Entering x 2, Felony Possession Of A Controlled Substance Methamphetamine, Felony Possession Of A Controlled Substance Cocaine, her warrants were served, and her bond was set at $18,500.
