All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Hot Springs Police met with an adult female on March 12, 2019 that claimed she was raped the night before.
The report states that the victim met with a friend for the purpose of purchasing marijuana from an unknown male that they knew by the name “New York”. The victim met up with “New York”, who allegedly drove her to a motel room at the Econo Lodge On Central Avenue.
Their conversation allegedly turned sexual in nature as soon as they were inside the motel room. The victim claims that she became uncomfortable, wanted to leave the room, stated so and asked “New York” to stop several times.
The report states that when she attempted to leave the room, “New York” forced her onto the bed and raped her anally and vaginally for approximately 1 hour before he stopped and drove her back to get her vehicle that was parked at another location.
The victim described the suspect and allegedly said that he worked at the Piney Junction McDonald’s Restaurant. HSPD Detective Scott traveled down to Piney Junction, investigated and figured out that the suspect is allegedly Eric Hasty, 33, of Mountain Pine Road in Garland County.
The victim met with detectives a few weeks later and is said to have selected Mr. Hasty from a photo lineup quickly and without hesitation.
Mr. Hasty is charged with Rape and Failure To Appear with a bond amount totaling $ – bond not available.
