As always, there is so much happening at the Baxter County Library. Here is just a few of the great programs, events and updates from the Library.

Popsicle stick ornaments

The Baxter County Library’s Always-on-Activity for the month of December will be creating holiday ornaments out of Popsicle sticks. Every Friday during the month of December, patron’s will be able to come to the Library’s Makerspace Studio300 and transform ordinary Popsicle sticks into adorable holiday decorations. The ornaments can then be taken home and hung on your tree or wrapped up as a great gift for family members.

This Always-on-Activity is perfect for any age. All materials will be provided and the activity will be available every Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A Christmas Carol

On Saturday at 10:30 a.m., the Arkansas Arts Center’s Children’s Theater on Tour will perform A Christmas Carol live in the Baxter County Library’s Knox Community Rooms. Clever, comedic, and kid-friendly, this holiday play breathes new life into this heart-warming tale. You’ll find yourself “light as a feather, happy as an angel, and merry as a schoolboy” after attending this rendition of Dickens’ classic work.

Following the live performance of A Christmas Carol, jolly Saint Nick will be making an appearance. Bring your children to read off their Christmas list to Santa and get some memorable pictures, too. Santa will be available until 1:30 p.m. in the Children’s area.

Wrap It Up

The Baxter County Library Foundation has launched its end-of-year giving campaign – Wrap it Up for the Library. Their goal is to raise at least $10,000 before the end of the year.

The Library relies on donations to help make many programs and services possible. In 2018, 25 percent of the Library’s revenue was provided by the Baxter County Library Foundation, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting the Library.  Foundation Coordinator Adeana Estoll shares, “We count on people giving generously at this time of year, so that we can turn around and make those funds available to the Library.”

To “wrap up” your gift to the Baxter County Library Foundation, you can participate in the Wrap It Up Campaign by simply making a donation in person at the Library or on the Library’s website at

Local sponsors ASC Warranty, Genuine Care Pharmacy, and the Baxter County Library Foundation Advisory Board and Trustees have pledged matching funds for every dollar donated through the end of the year up to a total of $5,000, allowing you to double the impact your donation makes.
