The deaths of two elderly Mountain Home residents found on Nov. 6 have been ruled a murder-suicide, according to a news release from Mountain Home Police Chief Carry Manuel.
The deceased were identified at Larry Skeen, 80, and his wife, Sharon, 75. According to the Arkansas State Crime Lab’s preliminary autopsy report, Larry Skeen shot his wife twice, before turning the gun on himself.
“It is believed one or both were experiencing health issues and their resulting deaths were prearranged between them,” said Chief Manuel. “Information found on a letter-sized note attached to the back door of the residence directed the Mountain Home Police Department to additional information inside their home.”
Police found packages of information containing delivery instructions and their final wishes, the release said. One package was addressed to their attorney.
Investigators continue to work finalizing their investigation, Chief Manuel added.
