All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Arkansas Lottery Commission Investigator Tenison advised Hot Springs Police of a theft of 7 Arkansas Lottery Tickets from the Valero Gas Station located at 3228 Central Avenue that took place on January 21, 2019 at 3:30AM.
HSPD Officer R. Davis viewed security footage of the alleged incident. The video allegedly shows Valero Employee Ronald Evans, 47, of Jerome Street in Hot Springs, go behind the counter, remove 7 lottery tickets, come back from around the counter and go to the restroom. After several minutes, Mr. Evans allegedly comes out of the restroom without the lottery tickets visible and exits the store. Mr. Evans was not on duty when the alleged theft occurred.
Inv. Tenison went on to say that 1 of these stolen lottery tickets was redeemed for a cash prize of $15 from the Exxon Gas Station located at 1200 Central Avenue on the same date at 10:07AM and provided security images that allegedly show Mr. Evans enter the Exxon Store, go to the counter, and receive the cash prize.
Mr. Evans is charged with Felony Lottery Fraud and Theft Of Property with a bond amount totaling $3,500.
