Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Corporal Hunter conducted a traffic stop on a beat up, dirty, Honda CRV SUV yesterday on Pleasure Island Point at the Highway 270 West River Bridge around 5:15PM yesterday.
Cpl. Hunter suspected trouble as soon as the vehicle stopped…he instantly asked for back up to head his way. He was able to identify an occupant of the vehicle as Parolee Joshua Eligha Teague, 40, of parts unknown, and quickly handcuffed him.

Chevis Cody Brock, 42, of parts unknown – allegedly fled from a traffic stop and jumped into Lake Hamilton.
The suspect made it to an island approximately 30 ft. from shore and disappeared into the woods. The island he got onto is tiny. Maybe about the size of a football field. Deputies, an Arkansas Highway Police Officer and neighbors all put eyes on the perimeter of the island and waited for the suspect to make a move.
GCSO CID Capt. Dodd arrived quickly, assumed command of the situation and GCSO K-9 Sergeant Kellar & Aton were ordered to the scene. The K-9 team arrived, gathered a couple of deputies up and had a couple of neighbors shuttle them out to the island in party barges.
Sgt. Kellar & Aton were on the Island about 6 minutes before we heard yelling. They had found the suspect and arrested him. They boarded the boats and were brought back to the traffic stop scene where LifeNet Medics were waiting to check out the soaking wet suspect. The temperature at the time the suspect went in the water was approximately 61º.
LifeNet cleared the wet suspect for booking and he was transported to the Garland County Detention Center with his parolee friend for processing.
Parolee Teague is charged with Parole Hold and is being held for Arkansas State Parole with no bond.
Mr. Brock is charged with Fleeing with a bond amount of $500.
