Hot Springs Police Officer Crook was dispatched to Clairmont Street to check a suspicious man breaking out all the windows of a house.
Off. Crook arrived and allegedly saw a man inside the house. The report notes that all the windows of the residence appeared to have been broken out. In addition to the windows all being broken, when I arrived, I saw a lot of broken glass and unopened mail in the street, a broom on the roof of the house, a mailbox that had been uprooted and was lying near the front door to the residence and a residential city trashcan on it’s side.
Off. Crook yelled several times for the man to identify himself. The man allegedly ignored the officer and ran to the front door of the house. Off. Crook put the man at gunpoint as he exited the house and ordered him to stop.
The man, Robert Corey Williams, 36, of 616 Clairmont Street (this house) in Hot Springs, allegedly walked away, told the officer “fuck you”, threw a trashcan and a mailbox at the officer, and tried to jump a fence. Off. Crook shot the tazer at Mr. Williams, but missed.
Mr. Williams allegedly took off running. Officers chased him. Mr. Williams allegedly stopped and turned toward Off. Crook. Off. Crook fired that tazer again and this time, Mr. Williams rode the lightning.
All alleged nonsense ceased immediately, Mr. Williams was handcuffed and LifeNet was ordered to the scene, which is standard procedure following all police sanctioned tazer blasts. Mr. Williams was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
As soon as he was medically cleared for booking, Mr. Williams was transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing. He is charged with Disorderly Conduct and Fleeing with a bond amount totaling $1,000.
