All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Hot Springs Police took a theft report this year where an unknown female allegedly stole a silver 2004 Chevrolet Malibu and a cell phone from a local motel room.
The victim stated he and an unknown female hung out for a while in his motel room. The report states the victim fell asleep with both his keys and phone in the room but when he woke up the next morning he allegedly found they had been stolen.
The victim allegedly stated he later learned the name of the suspect was, Desaray Marie Williams, 25, of Murray Street in Hot Springs.
The report states the victim observed Ms. Williams later driving his Malibu in the area of Bailey Street. He approached the vehicle but Ms. Williams allegedly drove off. The report states the victim called 911 but officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
The stolen Malibu was located at the McDonald’s on East Grand Avenue, possibly a few days later, and was turned over to the victim.
The report explains that HSPD Detective Stillian interviewed Ms. Williams about the incident at the Hot Springs Police Department. After being advised of her Miranda Rights, Ms. Williams allegedly admitted to taking the Malibu keys from the nightstand and stealing the vehicle. The report also states she drove it around for a few days and then parked it at McDonald’s on East Grand Avenue.
The report did not mention the cell phone again.
Ms. Williams was arrested and charged with Felony Theft Of Property with a bond amount of $2,500. She was also served an unknown arrest warrant at the time of her arrest.
