Hot Springs police arrested a man in connection to an officer-involved shooting, said the department in a press release.

Zachary Burks

Officers received a 911 call in reference to several shots fired in the 300 block of Chappel Hill Road around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, according to the police department.

When officers arrived on the scene, they encountered Zachary Burks armed with a pistol.

Police say an officer fired his weapon and Burks was shot.

He was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Burks is being held in the Garland County Detention Center on a zero bond parole hold.

He faces felony charges of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a certain person.

The release says as per departmental policy, the officer will be placed on paid administrative leave pending an administrative investigation.
