As always, there is so much happening at the Baxter County Library. Here is just a few of the great programs, events and updates from the Library:

Authors visits

On Sunday, at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., native photographer Tim Ernst will present his latest photography collection, Arkansas Splendor, at the Baxter County Library’s Knox Community Rooms. Containing 132 color photographs, Tim will guide you through the Ozarks with photos of his favorite picturesque locales. Arkansas Splendor depicts the Natural State in its most serene and breathtaking aspects and Tim is the perfect tour guide.

On Tuesday, at 6 p.m., Mark Grisham, author of Bedlam South and brother to John Grisham, will present his latest novel Diablo at the Baxter County Library. Copies of his work will be available for purchase and signing.

A Christmas Carol

On Saturday, Dec. 14 at 10:30 a.m., the Arkansas Arts Center’s Children’s Theater on Tour will perform A Christmas Carol live in the Baxter County Library’s Knox Community Rooms. Clever, comedic, and kid-friendly, this holiday play breathes new life into this heart-warming tale. You’ll find yourself “light as a feather, happy as an angel, and merry as a schoolboy” after attending this rendition of Dickens’ classic work.

Following the live performance of A Christmas Carol, jolly Saint Nick will be making an appearance. Bring your children to read off their Christmas list to Santa and get some memorable pictures, too. Santa will be available until 1:30 p.m. in the Children’s area.

Wrap It Up campaign

The Baxter County Library Foundation has launched its end-of-year giving campaign – Wrap it Up for the Library.  Their goal is to raise at least $10,000 before the end of the year.

The Library relies on donations to help make many programs and services possible.  In 2018, 25 percent of the Library’s revenue was provided by the Baxter County Library Foundation, a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to supporting the Library. Foundation Coordinator Adeana Estoll shares, “We count on people giving generously at this time of year, so that we can turn around and make those funds available to the Library.”

To “wrap up” your gift to the Baxter County Library Foundation, you can participate in the Wrap It Up Campaign by simply making a donation in person at the Library or on the Library’s website at www.baxlib.org.  Local sponsors will be pledging matching funds for every dollar donated through the end of the year, allowing you to double the impact your donation makes.
