Hot Springs Police Officer Baker was patrolling the 1800 block of Albert Pike on Sunday, May 12th. It was approximately 3:45 pm when Off. Baker noticed a blue Chevrolet Silverado truck in a parking lot. The older model truck allegedly matched the description of a vehicle theft report from earlier in his shift.
The police report states that Officer Baker approached a male standing next to the truck and asked him if he was the driver. Tyler Scott Martin, 25, homeless in Hot Springs, allegedly admitted that he was driving the truck. The report states that Off. Baker ran the license plate through the police computer and it confirmed that the truck was indeed stolen. Baker states in the report that Martin allegedly ran off for a few feet but he was able to detain him.
Police reportedly found a radio scanner and USB chargers. A run through the police system allegedly revealed that Martin had a valid Theft by Receiving warrant out of the Garland County Sherriff’s Office. Martin was arrested and transported to Garland County Detention Center for processing. Tyler Scott Martin is charged with a Felony Theft By Receiving x2 with a bond amount totaling $6,000 bond.
