Arkansas State Trooper Wingo investigated a single vehicle crash last night where a man drove a truck off the highway and approximately 100 upstream in a creek.
Evidence at the scene showed that the northbound Ford truck exited the right side of the pavement in a curve, traveled approximately 50 ft. down a grassy roadside, entered a well defined and flowing creek and continued approximately 100 yards before running into a rock formation akin to a short wall. The truck became disabled against the rocks in about 2 ft. of water.
Piney Fire & Rescue Troops arrived quickly and assisted as necessary.
LifeNet dispatched an Ambulance Crew to the scene. They met with the occupants of the wrecked truck, but did not transport anyone to the hospital.
The driver was checked for intoxication. He passed the trooper’s DWI check with no problem.
Ernie’s Wrecker recovered the truck from the creek, took charge of it and removed it from the scene.
Traffic flow was interrupted for approximately 15 minutes.
