All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.

Hot Springs Police Officer Z. Brown was called to E-Z Mart on Central Avenue the evening of 5/18/19 to take a theft report. Off. Brown met with the victim who alleged that a theft occurred at the Vagabond Motel on Central Avenue.

The report states that the victim said she was returning a family friend, Probationer Rickey Odell Hall, 49, of Bayles Street in Hot Springs, to his hotel room. Probationer Hall allegedly forcibly took the victim’s iPhone as he was exiting her vehicle then went inside his room and refused to return the phone. The victim stated that when she went home to tell her husband what had happened, she noticed that her small pink purse containing her ID, social security card, credit/debit cards, and checkbook was also missing.

Probationer Rickey Odell Hall, 49, of Bayles Street in Hot Springs – allegedly stole a woman’s phone and purse

The victim’s husband allegedly went to the motel and confronted Probationer Hall, who allegedly gave him the phone but denied having the purse.

Officers ran Probationer Hall’s name through the police computer and found that he has a search waiver on file as part of the terms of his probation. Officers made contact with Probationer Hall at his motel room. When he opened the door, the officers allegedly observed a small pink purse on the floor. The purse allegedly belonged to the victim and contained her ID and other listed items.

After officers placed Probationer Hall into custody, they allegedly found the victim’s checkbook in his rear pants pocket. According to the police report, after being read his Miranda Rights, Probationer Hall stated that he did not steal the items, but would not tell the officers how he got them.

Probationer Hall was arrested and transported to Garland County Detention Center for processing. He is charged with Felony Theft Of Property and Theft Of Property with a bond amount totaling $3,500.
