On November 22 a no contact order was issued between Eric Hasty, 34, of Mountain Pine Road in Garland County, and his victim after he was charged with rape on August 1, 2018.
According to the police report the victim stated that on August 1, 2018 she was walking to Little Rock from her home in Hot Springs after an argument with her parents. She made it to the Valero Cornerstone gas station at 2616 Albert Pike Road when Hasty asked if she wanted a ride.
She told Hasty she didn’t have any money, but he insisted because it was hot outside. Hasty told her he needed to stop a few places before taking her to Little Rock.
She stated they stopped at Walmart on 1601 Albert Pike Road and picked up some food from a female. The victim said Hasty and the female kissed and said they would see each other after work.
She said that they drove to a house or apartment and he said he had to go inside. Hasty insisted she come inside with him because it was too hot for her to stay in the vehicle.
The victim went with him and followed him inside and sat on his bed. She stated there was something wrong with his couch and there was nowhere else to sit. The victim stated that Hasty pulled off her leggings and raped her.
She stated she just laid there trying to figure out a way to get him off of her. She stated she said “ow” and he stopped and asked her if she had an STD. She said she didn’t and demanded he take her to Little Rock.
The victim stated she got back into his vehicle and he drove to Oaklawn racetrack and he told her that he had to go in for a few minutes. She said when Hasty got out of sight she began looking through his vehicle to find identification for Hasty.
She stated that she found his Arkansas driver’s license and Direct Express Card and saw his name was Eric Hasty. She was then able to get out of the vehicle and call for help. She made a police report and went to the hospital where a sexual assault kit was completed and collected.
On July 24, 2019, Detective Scott received confirmation from the Arkansas State Crime Lab that the male DNA profile matched Hasty.
Hasty was also charged with another count of rape on March 12, 2019 for a separate incident, read the story here.
