Hot Springs Police investigated a 2 vehicle rollover crash last night on the Westbound side of the Bypass where a Jeep struck a parked truck in the fast lane.
Evidence at the scene suggested that the westbound white Jeep SUV was traveling in the fast lane when it rear ended a parked red truck. The force of the collision shoved the truck forward and into the jersey wall. The truck rolled up the wall and came to final rest with it’s front wheel hanging off the other side of the wall. The impact forced the SUV to go right, rollover onto the shoulder of the highway and come to final rest on its roof.
Initial reports indicated that a person was trapped in the wreckage. I was not able to confirm that.
Information that I obtained from a witness at the scene had the red truck not occupied at the time of the collision.
Hot Springs Fire & Rescue Troops arrived quickly and assisted as needed.
LifeNet dispatched at least one Ambulance Crew and they EMS Supervisor to the scene. Any possible injury information is not known to me.
Traffic flow was interrupted for approximately 1.5 hours. Traffic was stopped for a total of approximately 40 minutes.
