Arkansas State Police Trooper Sheldon investigated a serious, single vehicle, 4-wheeler injury crash early this morning on Cordell Drive.
Evidence at the scene suggested that the eastbound 4-wheeler encountered a pot hole on the paved street and as a result, it appears that the operator may have lost control and the vehicle overturned at least once. 2 people were thrown from the vehicle as a result of the crash.
The Garland County Sheriff’s Department arrived quickly and assisted as necessary.
Piney Fire & Rescue Troops arrived quickly. Piney Fire Chief Scott Miser led his First Responders as they blocked the road, assisted with medical care and set up the landing zone for the helicopter at the Crystal Springs Recreation Area.
LifeNet dispatched 2 Ambulance Crews, the EMS Supervisor and the Air Crew to the scene. 1 patient was transported by ambulance to the hospital and 1 patient was flown by helicopter to the hospital.
The street was closed at this spot for at least an hour.
