LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Police have arrested several protesters who briefly shut down a downtown Little Rock intersection while demanding prosecution of a white officer who fatally shot a black motorist in February.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reportsSeveral arrested protesting no charges for Little Rock cop

about 20 people blocked traffic Tuesday, prompting police to warn protesters that they’d be arrested if they stayed in the streets.

It wasn’t immediately clear how many people were arrested. Little Rock police spokesman Michael Ford said the department had no comment.

Last month, Pulaski County prosecutor Larry Jegley declined to bring charges against Officer Charles Starks, who shot Bradley Blackshire 15 times through a windshield, killing him, as the car was in motion. Jegley said the vehicle was an “imminent threat” that justified the officer’s use of deadly force.
