Hot Springs Police Officer 1st Class Stone reports the following:
On 09/13/19 at approximately 2308 hours I, OFC Stone #120 observed a small pickup with a large amount of smoke protruding from the vehicle traveling westbound in the 1900 block of Albert Pike Rd.
I attempted to get into a position to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle. The vehicle attempted to evade me and was witnessed pulling into a private drive on the 100 block of Crimson Street.
Upon seeing the vehicle pulling into the drive, I witnessed the homeowner enter in a confrontation with the driver of the vehicle I was going to stop. After speaking with the homeowner, he advised he did not know the driver of the vehicle, later identified as Steven Breshears.
Breshears was detained, handcuffs were checked for fit and double locked. Breshears was placed in the back of my unit at this time. Upon further investigation, I observed a glass pipe with residue in the cup holder of the vehicle while attempting to check the VIN. A clear baggie with crystal like substance was located in the floor on the passenger side. A second clear glass pipe with residue was located in the center console inside of a cloth eyeglass case.
The crystal like substance field tested positive for the presumptive identification of methamphetamine.
The clear baggie with crystal like substances (methamphetamine) weighed approximately 1.1 grams.
Breshears was transported to the Garland County Detention Center without further incident and charged with Felony Possession Of A Controlled Substance and Felony Drug Paraphernalia, with a bond amount totaling $5,000.
