Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy Goodman responded to San Felipe Road on December 21 around 11:14 am about a vehicle theft.
The victim said he picked up, Laiklyn Pennock, 25, of Hot Springs, who was walking on the road. He let her stay at his residence for a few days. He knew the woman’s middle name was Renee, but nothing else about her.
The morning of December 21, Pennock tried to get inside of the victim’s silver Honda Pilot, the victim told her she couldn’t take the vehicle, but she got in the Honda and left. Dispatch reported the vehicle as stolen and patrol deputies were notified of the vehicle information.
On the same day around 4:00pm, GCSO Deputy Robinson was travelling around Sunshine Village Square and saw the stolen Honda Pilot.

Dep. Robinson confirmed with dispatch that the vehicle was entered as stolen into his computer and Dep. Robinson conducted a traffic stop on the it.


Pennock tried to leave the vehicle during the stop, but Dep. Robinson told her to remain inside. Pennock was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.
The vehicle was returned to the victim at the scene.
Pennock is charged with Felony Theft Of Property and her bond was set at $3,500.
