Information for this call is slim. Attempts to get information failed.
Hot Springs Police SWAT Personnel were called out to the Temperance Hill Shopping Center around 1 AM Friday Morning for the call of what I understand to be a welfare check on a child that was in the company of an adult female.
HSPD Patrol Officers took the initial call and responded to the shopping center. They located a vehicle that they were interested in and soon determined that the people they were looking for were locked inside a business at this location. Patrol officers attempted to make contact several times steadily with the female inside the building.
After a period of time with negative results, the patrol boss called the HSPD SWAT Team to the scene.
SWAT Personnel arrived quickly with the MRAP tactical response vehicle and HSPD Command Staff reported to the scene with the Mobile Command Post Vehicle.
SWAT Folks took positions and were ready for anything. Other SWAT Troops kept giving repeated commands over the loudspeaker to the female inside the building. They called her by name and urged her to talk with them. Ultimately, the female exited the building with the child under their own power with what appeared to be no problem.
The last knowledge I have of this is that the female and the child appeared to be ok. No talk of any charges for anyone that I am aware of. However, the disposition of the call is unknown.
