Morning Star Fire & Rescue Troops arrived quickly with at least 1 fire truck, 1 rescue truck and enough people to handle the situation.  They set up the helicopter landing zone on the highway at the scene, they assisted with medical care, cleanup duties and otherwise as needed.

LifeNet dispatched at least 4 Ambulance Crews, the EMS Supervisor and their Air Crew to the scene. EMS Supervisor Scroggins was quick to arrive and took charge of patient triage tasks.  Triage is where you have several injured people and must sort through the injuries, figure out which could be life threatening and treat/move patients in order of seriousness and manage the resources that are available to handle the orders.  In this case, there was plenty of help, no imminent dangers or problems at the scene, there were plenty of ambulances, enough medical gear to go around, bystanders were all behaving and nothing was hindering the operation.  It was all handled very smoothly.

Multiple law enforcement officials are searching for Grant County Deputy Keith Wright, who went missing Friday night on Lake Ouachita.

The sheriff’s office received a call at 9:49 p.m. Friday, July 19, from an individual who stated he could not find his friend after a night on the lake.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas Game and Fish, U.S. Army Corp of Engineers Rangers, Joplin VFD, and Mt. Ida-South Fork VFD responded to the call, but Wright has still not been found.

The boat was found at the back of a cove with the engine still running and the gear shift in neutral.

“He was the deputy that you wanted coming when you needed help. He was always the first on the scene and the last to leave,” said Roberts.

Police say the Search and Rescue operations are on-going and will continue until Wright is found.

We will update this story as the investigation continues.

Boat Sinks On Lake Hamilton At Woodstock Street – GARLAND COUNTY

Garland County Sheriff’s Marine Patrol Deputies responded to a lake house on Woodstock Street to investigate an abandoned boat that had been tied to the property and began to sink.

Evidence at the scene showed that the boat was tied to a fixture at the seawall and began to take on water.  The boat was about half submerged when help arrived.

Piney Fire & Rescue Troops were quick to respond and assist as necessary.  They were quickly able to determine that the boat was unoccupied.

About 20 minutes after 911 arrived, a party barge pulled up with people that took charge of the sinking boat.  They tried to maneuver the boat for recovery, but it rolled and then, really sank…hit bottom with the bow in the air.

When it rolled, a little sheen on the water was visible.  Garland County Environmental Troops were called out to assess and assist with the situation.

The homeowners were very gracious, helpful and assisted 911 as needed.
