The Iraq attack aftermath: Is all well? - Arkansas Times

News coverage this morning presents differing accounts of Iran’s missile attacks on bases in Iraq that house some U.S. troops.

Donald Trump proclaimed on Twitter last night, “All is well.”  So far, U.S. and Iraqi officials have reported no casualties. But the Washington Post says Iran’s Revolutionary Guard is claiming U.S. troops were killed. The New York Times says Iranian news outlets, rather than official sources, claiming U.S casualties.

Casulaty disputes aside, the fallout from increasing tensions following Trump’s drone assassination of an Iranian general and the Iran response yesterday is widespread. It includes impact on commercial shipping and airline flight patterns and increased security measures in untold numbers of places.

All eyes are on Trump’s promised statement today.
