Hot Springs Police investigated a strange car crash yesterday on Central Avenue in the Walmart Parking Lot where a vehicle struck the front of the Walmart Super Center Building.
Evidence at the scene included a vehicle on the sidewalk at the front of the building that appeared to have hopped the curb and struck the building with the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle also had significant front end damage, but did not appear to have struck the building with the front of the vehicle.
Also in the parking lot, approximately 200 ft. in front of the wrecked vehicle was a white truck that was sitting crooked in it’s parking space. Around the truck was a small, fresh debris field that closely resembled the scene of a minor traffic crash.
Witnesses at the scene told me that the wrecked vehicle was traveling away from the building when it struck the large trailer hitch of the white truck. After impact, the witnesses said that the vehicle traveled in reverse the 200 ft, hopped the curb and struck the building with it’s rear end.
LifeNet dispatched an Ambulance Crew to the scene. They met with the driver of the wrecked vehicle. It is unknown to me whether anyone was transported to the hospital.
