Vehicle Allegedly Stolen From Oaklawn Racing And Gaming; Felony Arrest – HOT SPRINGS

Story by Arkansas 911 News Writer Amanda Goodman

All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.

Hot Springs Police Detective Les Jessup reports the following:

On 08/10/18 at 0006 hours, a victim reported the theft of her 2011 Buick LaCrosse from the parking lot of Oaklawn Racing and Gaming, 2705 Central Avenue.  The victim advised she may have dropped the key fob for the vehicle inside the game room.

Oaklawn Security notified surveillance who reviewed video and found where the victim dropped her keys.  A white female is seen picking up the keys, and a white male, who was with her, is later seen entering the Buick LaCrosse and leaving the parking lot.

Kelly Blue Book fair market value for a Buick LaCrosse is $10,885.00.

On 08/17/18, I, Detective Les Jessup, received surveillance from Oaklawn Racing & Gaming, in reference to the theft of the victim’s Buick.  In the video a white female is seen picking up the victim’s keys from the game room floor at 2246 hours, 08/09/18.  She is accompanied by a white male, wearing a tank top t-shirt.  At 2250 hours, the white male is seen using the key fob to locate the Buick, by flashing the lights.  He then enters the Buick and leaves the parking lot of Oaklawn Racing & Gaming.

Photos of the male and female suspects were disseminated throughout the police department via email.

I was notified by HSPD Officer Brandon McAdoo that the male subject may possibly be known.

I compared a recent booking photo of the name Off. McAdoo provided to the subject from the surveillance video.  I positively identified the subject seen in the surveillance video.

On 08/19/18, HSPD Sgt. Jerry Freeman identified the female in the photographs and disseminated throughout the police department in reference to the theft of a 2011 Buick LaCrosse.  He located Holly Lynn Tankersley inside Oaklawn Racing & Gaming while he was working off duty security.  He obtained her current address and phone number.  He further advised the vehicle she was driving, a gray Nissan Sentra with disabled Arkansas license plate, is the same vehicle Tankersley was driving on 08/10/18, when she was seen picking up the key fob inside Oaklawn Racing & Gaming.

Holly Lynn Tankersley, 48, of Antioch Cemetery Road in Donaldson – allegedly found car keys and stole the car they belonged to.

On 08/11/19 HSPD Corporal May came in contact with Ms. Tankersley in the 100 block of Whittington Avenue and served her with this warrant.  She was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center. She is charged with Felony Theft Of Property with a bond of $3,500.
