Lake Hamilton Fire Chief Doug Davey and his Rescue Troops were dispatched to Lake Catherine State Park last week to assist LifeNet Medics with accessing a patient that had hiked to the waterfall area of the park. The patient had taken a bad fall off of the waterfall and suffered serious injury.
Several LHFD First Responders reported into the park to assist with getting the patient out of the woods and into the awaiting LifeNet Ambulance. The ambulance carried the patient to the landing zone that was set up by Chief Davey, LHFD Fire Marshall Bill Heck and a couple of their LHFD Troops.
The LifeNet Aircrew landed the helicopter in a field next to the Diamondhead Community Market & Cafe on Highway 171. They loaded the patient into the helicopter and quickly departed for an emergency room.
