When will I get my tax refund?
All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Off duty Hot Springs Police Officer Chapin says that he witnessed an aggravated assault with a vehicle used as the weapon on Albert Pike Road last week.
Hot Springs Police responded to a hit & run crash in the area of Albert Pike Road and Parson Street. Prior to arriving at the crash, HSPD 911 Dispatch notified responding officers that the suspect vehicle might be in the 400 Block of Airport Road.
Officers arrived at the scene of the crash and met with the victim. The occupants of the victim vehicle allegedly stated that they pulled out onto Albert Pike Road and were struck in the rear of their vehicle. After contact, Off. Chapin and other witnesses say that the suspect vehicle (gold 2006 Toyota Camry) allegedly did a u-turn, drove back to the victim’s vehicle and allegedly rammed the driver side with the front of the Camry. The witnesses reportedly say that the suspect got out of her Camry, started cussing, threatening to fight and then drove off.
At the same time officers were meeting with the victim and witnesses on Parson Street, other HSPD Officers arrived in the 400 Block of Airport Road and made contact with Verbina Latrise Witherspoon, 37, homeless in Hot Springs, and her damaged, gold 2006 Toyota Camry.

Verbina Latrise Witherspoon, 37, homeless in Hot Springs – allegedly crashed into a car, rammed the same car , then wanted to fight about it, departed the scene and then, cussed officers when they found her.
When asked why she didn’t stay at the scene, Ms. Witherspoon allegedly said that she was involved in the crash and that she left to get her tire fixed so she could pick her kids up at school.
One of the victims involved in the crash was brought to the Airport Road location for positive identification of the driver of the alleged suspect vehicle. Ms. Witherspoon allegedly became irate, began to cuss the officers and made an entire scene right there on the roadside.
Ms. Witherspoon was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing. She is charged with Aggravated Assault x2, Leaving The Scene Of An Accident and Disorderly Conduct with a bond amount totaling $6,500.
